Farm & Family

We, the Holzer family, live at the Premstlhof farm with our two sons and the grandparents. Together we share the agricultural work and take care of 4-5 dairy cows, young cows, calves, sheep, a few goats, chicken, pigs, a few rabbits, dogs and cats.

About 11 acres of steep meadows need mowing two times a year. In order to allow us to bring in this precious winter fodder our cows and sheep stay on mountain pastures during the summer. For now more than 30 years Grampa Sepp and the dogs accompany them during the summer months as sheep and cow shepherds. This gives the rest of the family the necessary time for working in the steep meadows and to give the barn a good cleaning.
